Perhaps it could have been the turning point for young Grant, his second minute one two with Robbie Blake had seen him cut through the Rotherham back four, enter the challange of former Fulham striker turned Rotherham defedner Rob Scott, down goes Grant, off goes Scott and in goes Robbie Blake's penalty. The night could have been Gareth's, instead he got fully booed with every touch and the evening it belonged to Blakey.

Blake tormented the Miller's backline. Lee Makel set him free for his shot to be cleared off the line. Makel looked quality, rising above the frenzied nature of the game. His cross for Andy Tod that the "defender" overhead kicked to the bar was outstanding. Tod got the second, snatching a back pass and dispatching.

Rotherham were all over the shop when Claus Jorgensen and Gareth Grant tormented them. A long punt from the back landed between keeper and Blake, Blake was on it and deftly chipped the stranded custodian. Three up in a canter and the last 32 and a huge moral fillup becogoned.

Second half and City dropped a gear, or perhaps Rotherham became more composed. David Wetherall lasted just over an hour well. Lewis Emanuel looked assured if untroubled. A fourth came when Jamie Lawrence and Claus Jorgensen combined for the Jamaican to finish easily.

4-0 and bearly a bead of sweat expended. The European quallifers come into the draw at the next stage, that means Leeds and we have a score to settle there, or am I getting carried away with myself?
